Chapel Barn Weddings are something very special. Chapel Barn is a beautiful rural barn and farmhouse in West Sussex, surrounded by idyllic countryside meadows, woodland and a lake! The barn itself can be used for civil ceremonies underneath the oak beams and rafters of this grade II listed building.
Not even a bit of rain can spoil this location! The isolated farm and quiet woodland is so romantic, even in wet weather! Sam and Laura had a spot of rain at their wedding, but that didn’t’t stop us getting some great photographs by the lake.
It’s stunning location offers views over towards the South Downs and has convenient access to the A23 near Haywards Heath and Brighton. With it’s fantastic relaxed atmosphere and professional venue team, Chapel Barn reminds us what a great Sussex wedding venue is all about!
The Lake, Meadow and Woodland
Once a fully functioning mill and farm, the lakes nearby offer a unique, intimate place to escape to for a moment alone as newly weds and for some stunning wedding photographs. In the late spring, the woodland around Chapel Barn is awash with bluebells and wildflowers and in early summer the meadow is flooded with yellow from the buttercups.
The rural area attracts an array of wildlife and Chapel Barn weddings have a distinctly relaxed atmosphere to them as guests relax in the gardens and shade of the open barn with glasses of Pimm’s and lemonade. The open barn area offers shelter and shade from the elements, and really emphasises the rustic barn feel, with hay bales, bunting and rusty corrugated iron.
As a West Sussex wedding venue, Chapel Barn is close to Gatwick Airport for international guests and there are plenty of perfect countryside bed and breakfasts and local inns to enjoy in the surrounding area! Why not pop across the road and visit the Bolney Wine Estate and sample some English wine?

Chapel Barn’s wedding venue is the perfect Sussex wedding location for a rustic barn wedding, with trestle table dining in the stone floored barn for the wedding reception, a beautiful sunset across the meadows and an evening disco or live band to finish the day’s festivities.
