Emma & Michael’s Fitzleroi Barn Autumn wedding wasn’t hampered by the wet weather at all. We got some amazing wet weather wedding photographs as they braved the October weather in West Sussex.
We started off the day with some wedding prep photography at High Barn Farm near Haslemere with the bridesmaids keeping Emma company whilst they all got ready. The bridesmaids were in a rich burgundy dresses and the flowers followed a similar colour scheme with some dusky pinks added for good measure.
Fitzleroi Barn Autumn Wedding
We arrived for the civil ceremony at Fitzleroi Barn (where I’ve shot many, many times!) and the barn was beautifully decorated with fairy lights in the rafters and sprigs of flowers on the aisle chairs. We actually ended up clearing the ceremony room afterwards in order to shoot the group photos in doors due to the wet weather, but after this, we went out under a couple of umbrellas for some epic shots in the rain!
The wedding guests were treated to a cosy reception with a live singer and acoustic guitar for drinks and canapés, and a DJ was booked for the evening.
There were flowers on the tables in small jars and tealights on log rounds in centre of table. Small cellophane bags of sweets were used as wedding favours. The wedding cake had a ‘top tier’ of cake, followed by cup cakes on wooden log slice stands below, iced ‘semi-naked’ with a few flowers on top.
After the wedding breakfast we went back out in the rain with the help of the best men to get a couple more shots in the rain. The dark and moody atmosphere worked really well with the flash light behind the bride and groom. We then dried off for the cake cutting and first dance afterwards and they danced the night away under the shelter of the cozy lights in the rafters of the barn.
