Preview: Eileen & Steve’s Wedding at Brighton Town Hall

Eileen & Steve, Brighton Town Hall Wedding, Brighton Lanes, East Sussex

Eileen & Steve’s wedding at Brighton Town Hall was an intimate occasion, with just the five of us, Bride, Groom, myself and two witnesses. Due to the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), Eileen & Steve bought their wedding date forward, and the streets were empty for us to get some beautiful photographs in what is usually a very busy area. The wedding day was full of laughter, and I was so privileged to be able to photograph this special wedding. I’ve known Eileen for years, and it was an honour to still be includedfor the wedding. We started with a few shots against the ancient flint walls in the Brighton Lanes, outside Bohemia on Meeting House Lane.

At the town hall, the ceremony was full of smiles and laughter, the registrars were really great and the ceremony was beautiful. Sue & Grant, the witnesses threw as much confetti as possible for our confetti shot at the end of the ceremony!

Wedding Photography in the Brighton Lanes

The Brighton Lanes were deserted, so we decided to take advantage of this and get some great shots of Eileen & Steve in Meeting House Lane. Normally bustling with tourists and shoppers browsing the trinkets found in the boutiques of these narrow streets, this beautiful and surprisingly peaceful location was great for portraits in the narrow lanes.

Our final shots were of the first dance, shot at Hotel Du Vin with some off-camera flash. I wanted to create a real atmosphere of dramatic movement, using strong flash and a closed down aperture. I want to say a big thank you to Eileen & Steve for having me along on their special day.
