Wedding photographs from Ashdown Park Hotel last weekend with Lisa & Scott. They’d hired a Rolls Royce Phantom, which was part of our first set of Bride & Groom portraits outside the front of the hotel.
After a few group photographs on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the surrounding fields of Ashdown forest, we headed down to the small lake at the bottom of the garden. This small footbridge provided a nice symmetry for this photograph. I then asked Lisa & Scott to walk to the end of the jetty towards the fountain and ran around the lake to get a shot looking back towards the hotel building. I was so close to falling into the lake, and feel very lucky that I didn’t!
Around the chapel building of Ashdown Park Hotel, where the wedding reception was held under ornate gothic architecture, we took advantage of the evening summer light in the chapel gardens and the lavender flowers made a nice additional element to the foreground in the photograph below.
Many thanks to the Bride’s family, who supplied confetti cannons for this shot. Four wedding guests gave us some assistance for this shot by firing off all of the cannons at the same time and a flat gun to the left provided a bit of lighting to help the colours pop in the shot.
The first dance was brilliantly choreographed, and they had clearly been practicing. Lisa’s graceful ability to flow across the dance floor in her wedding dress was brilliant, and this was my favourite shot from the first dance only because of the way the dress material flowed as she moved back toward Scott for their grand finale on the dance floor.
For our final photographs, we had a bit of fun with some sparklers and the Gothic archway entrance to the chapel grounds. A couple of flashguns behind the couple illuminated this shot and the symmetrical windows on either side of the archway.
