A Nonsuch Mansion Wedding, photographed in spring in South London. We started with bride and groom prep photos in West Norwood, with a couple of shots of Josh getting ready before visiting Jade, just around the corner. Photographing the dress hanging up was a bit of a challenge, as the dress was almost too big for the room!
St Stephen’s Church in Dulwich & Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam
We arrived at the wedding ceremony held at St Stephen’s Church in Dulwich, the church grounds are very well cared for, and were in full spring bloom. The church is bright and airy, making professional photography very easy with the 85mm f1.2L lens that I had recently bought for my camera kit bag.
We shot a couple of group photographs in front of the church entrance, before having a (very professionally organised) confetti line along the path next tot he church. This gave us this great shot of confetti being thrown after the church ceremony.
A countryside South London wedding venue
We then headed over to Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam, Surrey for the wedding reception and some more wedding photography in the surrounding grounds and adjacent Nonsuch park. We got a couple of photographs with the wedding car outside the wedding venue, before heading around the back of the mansion for some more group photographs and some bride and groom portraits.
A small shower of of rain meant that getting wedding photographs was a bit tricky, but the light rain in the shot below gave this photograph a wonderful atmosphere.
The wedding reception at Nonsuch Mansion was in a beautifully decorated dining room, which is very well lit with large Georgian style windows and grand light fittings, as well as some stylish wall paper. A few speeches and a beautiful wedding breakfast and we were cutting the cake and dancing the night away very soon after.
Before the first dance, we went for a brief explore in Nonsuch park to see if we could catch any golden hour light, and this added some great colour to the surrounding trees.
This fairy light wall along the edge of the dance floor was great to experiment further with that shallow depth of field from my 85mm lens.
