A civil ceremony, Westerham Golf Club wedding in December on the border of Surrey and Kent, just outside of London. Our day began in South London for some bridal prep photos at the family home that was all decorated ready for Christmas! The tree made a wonderful background for some detail shots of the bridal accessories and for the wedding dress hanging up.
Westerham Golf Club Wedding
I met Kenny at the ceremony venue just before Cassie arrived and grabbed some quick photos of the wedding rings and a couple of portraits of the groomsmen in their dinner jackets. Cassie arrived in a vintage Jaguar wedding car and the woodland car park of the golf club is a surprisingly beautiful location to take photos!
Kenny & Cassie were permitted to use a golf cart to travel around the course for us to capture a few shots (I also got a lift with the groundskeeper). The woodland areas of the golf course and this beautiful lake was a great location for wedding photography. The open space meant we captured some of low winter sun against the backdrop of trees and the light on the wedding couple created crisp reflections in the water for the shot below.
With beautiful low winter sunlight, this winter wedding in Kent was blessed with perfect golden hour lighting at just the right time of day. As I mentioned, the car park woodland was a wonderful place for a few shots with the Jaguar.
A Cosy Winter Wedding Reception
The colour scheme of the decorations of the wedding reception were green, cream and gold. The grand hall of the club was really cosy, with log fires and fairy lights in the rafters. The bride and groom had also decorated the hall with a flower wall for photos and an acoustic singer serenaded wedding guests during the drinks reception and dinner. The wedding favours were Ferrero Rocher chocolates in a jar and the wedding cake was a traditional three-tier cake with flower decorations.
To round off their amazing winter wedding, a fireworks display over the golf course was put on for part of the evenings entertainment.
