Will & Vicky got married at St John the Baptist church in Badingham and had a marquee reception at Will’s parents farm in Saxmundham in Suffolk. This beautiful countryside in the east of England was bathed in summer sunshine all day long.

The day started at Will’s house to get some shots of the Groom and Best man doing some last minute speech writing and putting on their Lego superhero cufflinks. I then visited Vicky, who was getting ready in a little cottage just outside of the village. We hung her wedding dress in a tree at the edge of a small copse, which added some dappled light through the trees to the shot.

It was then onto the church for a traditional Church of England ceremony, followed by a few photos in the church grounds, finishing off with confetti on the Bride & Groom’s exit. They had hired a Rolls Royce, which I managed to get a few shots of whilst following close behind on the way to the farm for their reception.

I loved how much the wedding was a great mix of vintage/modern style, with some rustic farm decorations and English summer wedding all mashed together (with a few additional quirks here and there). They had made a simple table plan from a wooden pallet, painted wine bottles for flowers to sit in and even decorated the toilets with reference to Jurassic Park, and Jeff Goldblum’s famous quote in regards to Triceratops’s droppings. They’d served drinks in jam jar glasses, which doubled up as wedding favours, which I thought was a particularly nice touch. These added extras really made this wedding stand out for me, with the usual extras of garden games, vintage birdcages and bunting thrown in for good measure. Outside the marquee, it felt very much like a summer festival with hay bales scattered around too and it was all quite informal and relaxed.

We got some really great shots when the sun went down, as East Anglia is so flat we got every last glimmer of sunshine with some golden hour portraits with the car and a sunset photo to end the day with. I loved this wedding so much, I’ve just printed a sample album to show my new clients!
