The light was quite flat, so I tried out a couple of different techniques to use the landscape to my advantage. This shot involved being much closer than I usually shoot and photographing using a soft depth of field and a wide lens.

Using long grass and this gate (below) added another element of interest as well as the large tree in the background.  0006_Preview_Christopher_&_Julia_Wedding_House_on_the_Brooks_Hardham_West_Sussex0006_Preview_Christopher_&_Julia_Wedding_House_on_the_Brooks_Hardham_West_SussexChristopher & Julia Wedding, House on the Brooks, Hardham, West Sussex

Just towards the end of golden hour, the sun poked through the clouds to give us a nice sunset to enjoy for a whole 2 minutes. This was probably the only good shot I got before it disappeared again (though I haven't checked all the images yet). When looking for light, you have to be really quick and it can change so quickly (even on calm, cloudy days)!

Using an off camera flash and white umbrella to expose Chris & Julia, I underexposed the sky heavily and pushed it a little bit in Lightroom to emphasise those subtle colours in the sky.
